Youth Round-Up: Week 3

YOUTH ROUND UP

Week 3 was soon upon us for our Youth sides and their was no let up in action as 12 teams took to the field. We start our round up with the Under 15 Girls, playing just their second ever game faced a Shrewsbury Juniors side who finished second last season. It was a top drawer performance from the Girls as they ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Jess Walley, Elle Morrissey and Rachel Taylor.

The Under 11 Boys kept up their impressive start to the MJPL Cup with an empathic 7-0 victory over local rivals NC United. Leading goalscorer Isaac Bateson added to his account for the season with another 2, supported by Tyler Roe (2), Cole Dexter, Ethan Rowland and Josh Hicklin. It takes them to 19 goals scored and 0 conceded in the opening 3 games. Meanwhile the Under 12 Boys, despite two goals from Bayley Bateman were held away at Newcastle Town.

Our Under 16 Boys kept up their 100% start to the season with a 3-0 victory over Kidderminster Harriers Community. Reece Clayton grabbed a brace to take him to 5 goals in 3 games whilst Ethan Relf grabbed his first goal for the club. Despite goals from Brian Castle (2) and Cody Rimmer, it wasn’t enough for the Under 15 Boys to pick up victory at home to Wyrley Warriors, going down 4-3.

It was a comfortable victory for the Under 13 Girls as two goals from Mya Yee and one from Abi Harris gave them a 3-0 win over Broseley. Meanwhile the Under 18 Girls were edged out against Coventry Girls. The Under 14 Boys headed into their fixture against last years runaway champions Lye Town with two victories. It was a close fought contest but the Bucks were edged out 3-2, Ollie Corbett with both goals.

It was a local derby for the Under 18s Boys as they hosted Wellington KB looking to make it 3 wins from 3. It was a convincing performance from the home side as they ran out 5-1 winners, Josh Garrington (2), Ethan Pickford (2) and Mike O’Toole with the goals. The spoils were shared between our Under 10 Boys and Hednesford Town as the game ended 3-3, George Hollis-Terry and James Heller on the scoresheet.

Rosie Davies and Caitlin McCoole both netted as the Under 11 Girls drew against Shrewsbury Up & Comers in a very entertaining and high quality encounter. We end our round up with the currently undefeated Under 13 Boys who entertained Crewe Sharks looking to make it 3 consecutive victories. 8 different players were on the scoresheet as they did so in emphatic fashion. Harry Bailey, Freddie Williams, Fin Malpass, Fin Sahadew, Tyler Harris, Hayden Cooksey, Callan Adcock and Leo Bowes all netting.

Good Luck to all our sides playing this weekend.
