Youth Round-Up

As our sides enjoy a well deserved Christmas break, we take a look back at all the action from the last fortnight.

Saturday 7th December

It was a rare busy weekend of action for our Youth sides as the weather finally subsided and we start our round up with the Under 17 Girls who faced Kinver Colts looking to keep up their 100% league record. They did so in convincing fashion running out 7-0 winners thanks to a hat trick from leading scorer Lauren McCaffrey and further goals from Kacey Davies, Lauren Pritchard, Abbie Norry and a debut goal from Ellie Micklewright.

The Under 13 Boys kept up their great run of form with a 3-1 victory at home to Darlaston Town courtesy of goals from Riley Burnett, Fin Sahadew and Freddie Williams. Meanwhile a goal from Preston Whinnerah wasn’t enough to see the Under 14 Boys fall to a 3-1 defeat against Sutton United. The Under 12 Boys made it back to back victories with an 8-3 victory over CS Colts. Ben Corfield led the way with a hat trick with further goals coming from Jack Beech, Jack Davies, Charlie Evans, Bayley Bateman and Lewis Upton.

A Leah Drury goal wasn’t enough to give the Under 18 Girls a first win of the season against Leafield Athletic Yellow. It was a similar story for the Under 10 Boys as an Aiden Bird goal wasn’t enough as they went down to a heavy defeat at home to an impressive Northampton GLK United. Our Under 11 Girls moved into the semi final of the Shropshire Charity Cup with a 5-1 victory over Newport Girls Ravens. The victory saw 5 different players on the scoresheet Jasmine Cooper, Darcey Fulcher, Lily Morrissey, Morgan Howells and leading scorer Caitlin McCoole. Also in Charity Cup action was the Under 13 Girls who booked their place in the final against SAHA with a narrow 3-2 victory over Lawley Lightmoor. Mya Yee led the way with a brace with Lacie Everton-Holden netting the other.

A goal from Dylan Glendinning wasn’t enough the stop the Under 18 Boys from going down 2-1 against local rivals Shawbury United. The game saw 4 of our Under 16s making the step up to support the depleted 18s side. It was a dominant performance from the Under 15 Boys against Lichfield Round Table White but they couldn’t find that elusive goal to take the 3 points. Meanwhile the Under 11 Boys made it 10 wins on the bounce with a battling victory over Berkswich. Tyler Roe grabbed a brace with leading scorer Cole Dexter on the scoresheet. Their was also a debut goal for new signing Emmanuel Udoh.

We end our round up with the Under 15 Girls who were in action against Shrewsbury Juniors. Courtney Castle netted 4 with goals also coming from Jess Walley (2), Elle Morrissey, Mollie Edwards and Chloe Childs

Saturday 14th December

It was the final weekend of action before the Christmas break as yet again the weather hit the schedule. We start our round up with the Under 16 Boys who hosted Hereford FC looking for a similar performance that saw them run out winners against the same opposition at the start of the season. Having not played for a few weeks it was a slow start for the Bucks but they found their feet in the second half thanks to a brace from Reece Clayton and one from Ethan Relf to give them a 3-1 victory.

A depleted Under 15 Boys picked up 3 points against Brackley Town thanks to goals from Charlie Timmins, Jayden Williams and Hanoch Boayke extending their unbeaten run to 8 games. It was a rare defeat for the Under 13 Boys on the road away at CS Colts despite a goal from Harry James.

A Bayley Bateman goal wasn’t enough to stop the Under 12 Boys falling to defeat against Walsall Community Trust. However, the Under 14 Boys returned to winning ways with a 6-2 victory over Solihull Moors. Leading scorer Preston Whinnerah once again led the way with a brace with further goals coming from Dylan Millington, Josh Pryce, Bailey Pinchin and Oliver Corbett.

After booking their place in the final of the Charity Cup last week against Lawley Lightmoor, the Under 13 Girls faced the same opposition in league action but unfortunately they couldn’t replicate it going down 2-0. It was better fortune for the Under 15 Girls as they defeated Prees Juniors 5-0. Romillie Evans and Mollie Edwards both grabbed braces with Chloe Childs also on the scoresheet.

Our Under 18 Boys returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 victory over Hednesford Town. Sam Edwards led the way with a brace with Ethan Pickford also on the scoresheet. It was also a return to victory for the Under 10 Boys as they ran out convincing winners over Evesham thanks to goals from James Heller (2), William Mort (2), George Hollis-Terry, Aiden Bird, Oliver Grice and an own goal.
