Cambridge United signed Sam on a six-month deal, and he made his EFL debut as a substitute in a 2-2 draw with York City.
With his deal not extended, Sam signed for Brackley Town ahead of the 2015/16 campaign, a club he had played for on loan the previous season.
After a handful of appearances for the Saints and one goal, Sam switched to Stourbridge FC and made a dozen appearances before joining Rushall Olympic.
Sam established himself as a mainstay in the Pics midfield and helped them to promotion to Step 2 through the playoffs in the 2022-23 season before choosing a new challenge with the Bucks. He quickly endeared himself to supporters with a series of impressive displays.
