AFC Telford United are delighted to announce the signing of high rated young central defender Steffan Jones.
The 17-year-old joins the Bucks on a one-year contract having spent the first few weeks of pre-season impressing Bucks boss Kevin Wilkin.
Jones, who hails from Penybontfawr, near Oswestry, recently represented England at the Roma Caput Mundi tournament over in Italy.
He was selected earlier in the season to be part of the 20-strong England Colleges under 18 national squad from over 700 hopefuls.
He has subsequently trained and played at St George’s Park, where he gained his first England cap in a 3-1 victory against England Independent Schools.
Jones then went on to captain the side against Australia at Milton Keynes.
The 17-year-old is presently studying sports coaching and development at Shrewsbury SCAT College.
Jones has developed his football by playing and captaining Llanfyllin Town youth teams and the Bala Academy under 16 and 19 squads.
He has just finished his first with Cefn Druids’ first team in Cymru North.
