She brightened up lives, and now new advertising boards bearing her name will be brightening up the SEAH Stadium.
The Georgia Williams Trust and the Bucks are continuing their long association, one of which we are rightly proud.
Honouring the memory of our much-loved Georgia, who volunteered at the club before she was taken from us in 2013, the Trust encourages and empowers young people with a message to ‘Free Your Spirit – Join In’.
Georgia’s vibrant personality and desire to seek out and embrace challenges inspired the Trust, which now raises funds and gives grants to help young people reach their goals.
Following a rebranding of their distinctive ferret logo, inspired by Georgia’s nickname, we were delighted to invite Georgia’s mother, Lynette Williams and grandfather, John Dayus, who still volunteers at the club to this day, to see the Trust’s new boards in place at pitchside.
The boards are positioned at the Hamer Leisure Stand end of the SEAH Stadium. They are overlooked by the ‘Georgia Williams: One of our Own’ banner that hangs from the stadium rafters, which has now been retired after being taken ‘on tour’ to numerous away matches by Georgia’s friends.
“Georgia meant a great deal to so many people at the club, so we couldn’t be happier to help Lynette and the other trustees by promoting the Trust’s offer to young people,” said Aimée Lauder, the Bucks Commercial Sales Manager.
Lynette, on behalf of the Trust, said:
“Georgia would be so proud of the new banners going up in the traditional home supporters’ end of the stadium, continuing the fantastic link between the Trust, the Bucks and the fans, and we’re thrilled to continue it.”
