All at AFC Telford United congratulate Twariq Yusuf on his selection for international honours by Tanzania.
Twariq has been named in a provisional 53-man squad ahead of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and will be unavailable for selection for forthcoming matches.
Head coach Adel Amrouche has selected the Bucks’ attacking midfielder in Tanzania’s initial squad for the the tournament, which is taking place in Cote D’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) between 13th January and 11th February 2024.
Tanzania are in Group F of the tournament, along with FIFA World Cup semi-finalists Morocco, DR Congo and Zambia.
Their fixtures are:
- 17th January – Morocco
- 21st January – Zambia
- 24th January – DR Congo
We wish Twariq all the best as he seeks to make the final 27-man squad and represent the Taifa Stars at AFCON.
Tanzania has qualified for the tournament for the third time in its history, although they will be joint hosts in 2027.
