Ladies

Smith brings up a century of appearances.

Sundays fixture at the SEAH Stadium gave us the opportunity to mark a memorable occasion for one member of the Women’s squad.

Towards the end of last season centre midfielder Jem Smith made her 100th appearance for AFC Telford Women. Smith made her debut in the clubs first ever game away at Rubery Ravens in the Birmingham County Women’s League on the 10th September 2017. On the day we ran out 9-1 winners with Smith netting two including a 40 yard screamer.

Since this game Jem has been ever present for the side under 4 different managers. Her wealth of experience has been an asset to the side as players continued to progress through the youth pathway, mentoring and supporting them in open age football.

To represent the same club for more than 100 games in women’s football is a remarkable achievement and we look forward to the next 100. Congratulations Jem Smith, a true AFC Telford legend.
