We are pleased to confirm that our home Southern League Premier Central fixture against Bedford Town, initially scheduled for Saturday, November 16th, 2024, will take place on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, with a 7.45 pm kick-off.
The new fixture date has been agreed upon between the clubs and approved by the Southern League.
We are aware there was some confusion about rescheduling this fixture, so we would like to take this opportunity to clarify matters.
Club secretary Paul Carter discussed playing the fixture on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, with his counterpart from Bedford Town and reached an agreement between the clubs. The Southern League also approved the fixture change.
We sought to arrange a mutually agreeable date and time to confirm the new fixture; however, before we could do so, the Bedfordshire County FA informed Bedford Town that this date had been earmarked for a county cup fixture.
Neither Bedford’s prospective opponents in the county cup nor the Bedfordshire FA were open to moving the cup fixture to accommodate the league fixture.
With FA competitions taking precedence, Bedford advised us that the fixture would need to be rescheduled from the originally agreed date.
We thank Bedford Town for working with us to confirm a new date and look forward to hosting them and their supporters in the New Year.
