As you may be aware, Kyle Storer missed our game at Biggleswade Town through suspension.
To clarify the situation and counter any misinformation circulating, we feel it is worthwhile to issue the following.
Kyle’s suspension relates to an incident that occurred in November 2023 while he was coaching one of Nuneaton’s youth teams.
Following the submission of the referee’s report, Kyle was charged with Improper Conduct and accepted the charge and any subsequent sanction.
Charges were also brought against the coaching staff of Nuneaton’s opposition, who denied the charges. One of those persons charged elected to have the case heard at a personal hearing with the Football Association.
The hearing was not held until late in April 2024. All charges relating to the incident were consolidated, i.e. the FA chose to review all the events and charges as one, so Kyle’s suspension was effectively ‘on hold’ until the hearing took place.
With the hearing completed, Kyle’s two-match ban took effect with the first competitive game of the season.
We hope this provides some explanation of the circumstances and look forward to having Kyle available for selection once his suspension has been served.
