All at AFC Telford United are saddened to hear of the death of Mark Shaw, one of our loyal Bucks supporting family.
Mark, more often known as ‘Magsy’, passed away on Monday 13th July following a long illness. With his origins in Ketley but having lived in recent years in Randlay, Mark was Telford through and through. He was a familiar face on match day, who would enjoy recounting tales great Bucks memories, including those notable FA Cup exploits. In recent times it was only Mark’s illness that prevented him from supporting the Bucks from what had been his regular position behind the goal in the David Hutchison Stand, moving instead to the Sir Stephen Roberts Stand but displaying no less passion for his team.
Mark also played the game locally, for both The Compasses and Ketley Nomads, described by his good friend David Howells as “combative, but an absolute gentleman off the pitch.”
He is survived by his wife Clare, son Ben and daughter Megan. We send Mark’s friends and family our warmest best wishes, our condolences, and our thanks for Mark’s support of the club over the years.
Numquam obliviscere.
