The Southern League has published its fixture schedule for the 2024/25 season, a much-anticipated day for Bucks fans.
The Bucks will begin their campaign on 10th August with a road trip to Bedfordshire to face newly promoted Biggleswade Town.
Our first home opponents arrive a few days later for a midweek meeting under the lights with our nearest rivals geographically, Stourbridge FC.
Seven teams are new to the Southern League Premier Central for the 2024/25 season, and the Bucks will have visited three of them by early September. Away games are scheduled at Spalding United and Lowestoft Town.
The second of those, Lowestoft Town on 7th September, is our furthest away trip of the season, at 208 miles one way.
Our first Emirates FA Cup day will be the last day of August as we enter the first qualifying round stage.
There are two potential free Saturdays: September 14th and September 28th, although the Bucks will also aim to be in FA Cup action on those days.
Likewise, 5th October is when we enter the Isuzu FA Trophy, with a Saturday three weeks later (26th) left free in the event of our progression in the competition.
Our visit to Stourbridge on 21st December completes our first home and away fixtures. It sets us up for a Christmas and New Year period where we host Halesowen Town on Boxing Day, the reverse of last season’s Boxing Day fixture where the Bucks recorded a 2-0 victory over the Yeltz.
We travel to Stratford Town to meet the Bards on New Year’s Day, but with it being Christmas, there are always a few sandwiches involved and sandwiched between the Boxing Day and New Year’s Day fixtures, we make the trip to Hertfordshire to face Hitchin Town.
Easter arrives late in 2025, and we will host Lowestoft Town on Easter Saturday before travelling to The Grove to meet Halesowen Town on Easter Monday.
The regular season concludes a few days later, on 26th April, with a home game against Royston Town. That match was the first game of last season but will be the last match of the 2024/25 season.
So there you have it—the schedules are set, and forty-two league games, as well as some additional knockout ties, lie ahead of us.
