November 25th is White Ribbon Day, and the Bucks are reaffirming our commitment of previous years to bring an end to violence against women and girls.
Ahead of Tuesday’s game with Kidderminster Harriers, players from both our mens and womens teams stood together, symbolising their respect for each other as players and as people who share common goals, and to show support for the White Ribbon campaign.
Her Game Too
The Bucks are partners with Her Game Too, whose goal is to eradicate sexism in the football industry. Her Game Too wants women and girls of all ages to feel confident and safe sharing their opinion about football, both online and in real life, without fear of sexist abuse.
Her Game Too stands for respect and equality, and they are also key elements in the White Ribbon campaign.
Why are we doing this again? Didn’t we do this last year?
We did, but quite simply, until violence against women and girls, particularly in intimate relationships, no longer exists there remains a need for the White Ribbon movement.
Until it stops, we won’t stop..
White Ribbon Day 2022
This year, White Ribbon Day, 25th November, falls in the same week as the first week of the FIFA men’s World Cup. There has never been a better time for us to come together and start playing as a team to end violence against women and girls.
All men can join the team to end violence against women and girls – that’s #TheGoal. Whether you’re a football fan or not, let’s work together to achieve gender equality. White Ribbon Day 2022 highlights 11 traits men and boys can nurture to help create a world of equality and safety for women.
By uniting on White Ribbon Day, 25th November, we believe we can play our role in working towards ending violence against women and girls.
We invite you to make the pledge and join in achieving #TheGoal by visiting the White Ribbon website using the link below, or by scanning the QR code under the Campaign Information link using your smartphone. This will take you straight to the page where you can make your pledge or, if you’ve made the pledge before, you can reaffirm your commitment to White Ribbon and what it stands for.
