Womens
Although our AFC Telford United Women couldn’t overcome Stourbridge Women in their Adobe Women’s FA Cup tie on Sunday (3rd November), they should reflect with pride on progressing to the first round of the competition.
They resume league action on Sunday, 10th November, when they host Walsall FC at Telford College. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Foundation
A new weekly Community Tea, Chat, and Football session, held each Monday evening in association with AFC Telford United Foundation, True North Community, and Telford Cyclones, launched last Monday (4th November).
More than sixty people were in attendance and enjoyed an evening of tea, coffee, cake, and inspiring guest speakers.
Each weekly session runs from 7 pm to 9 pm with a football session scheduled from 8 pm – 9 pm)
Everyone is welcome, and all donations from the session go towards supporting military veterans as they work to rebuild their lives. Every cup shared, and every game played makes a difference.
From the Dressing Room
A Wheel Dilemma
The Bucks’ management team had an additionally stressful day on Saturday, November 2nd. Manager Kevin Wilkin experienced a tyre blow-out on the M6 en route to Telford and only arrived after 2 p.m., having been rescued by first-team analyst Lee Bolt.
Following the game, strength and conditioning coach Rhys Morris also had car trouble, breaking down on the M54, making it a very late return home.
Pleasingly, the players delivered a result that helped to cushion the effect of Kevin and Rhys’s misfortunes – a day that started and ended badly at least had a good part in the middle to reflect on.
Men’s Health? It’s more than Lip Service for Brandon.
As you may have seen elsewhere on our website, Bucks goalkeeper Brandon Hall is sporting a moustache for Movember.
You can read more about Brandon’s charitable efforts in this article on the cub’s website, where you can also make a donation.
