Welcome to our first Bucks Bulletin of 2025. This bulletin gathers news from the club in one place to keep you informed.
January has five fixtures, including top-of-the-table home and away meetings with Bedford Town.
The Bucks had no fixture on the first weekend of the year owing to Biggleswade’s FA Trophy progress. Kevin Wilkin, his staff and the team didn’t let the opportunity go to waste; they were active on Saturday (4th), playing a practice match against Aston Villa’s Under 21s side at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training facility.

Injury Updates
As you may have noticed, several members of the Bucks’ squad have been absent from consideration for recent match days due to injury.
Steffan Jones has been absent from the squad for the longest time due to a foot problem that is difficult to diagnose. After an inconclusive scan, a recent MRI scan indicated that Steff had an internal cyst between the bones in his foot. Physio Beth Lewis was hopeful that a GP visit could address this, but at the time of writing, we have no firm idea when Steff may be available again.
Byron Moore missed some games over Christmas but we are optimistic that he will return to the match day squad soon.
Matty Stenson was absent for the New Year’s Day fixture at Stratford Town with a hamstring issue. However, we hope a rest cure has addressed this, allowing Matty to make himself available again.
Jakub Kruszynski missed the Christmas and New Year fixtures after experiencing a knee ligament issue that flared up after the fixture with Banbury United. Mansfield Town, Jakub’s parent club, advised rest; however, Jakub is now working hard towards a return in the near future.
With injuries and suspensions, there are times when we deliberately choose not to broadcast information about them, and we thought we’d take the opportunity to explain why.
It’s simply this: why reveal information that might help our opponents?
With serious injuries or red cards, it’s hard to keep them under your hat, so to speak, but with minor injuries or suspensions for accumulations of yellow cards, we actively try not to highlight these. Once we reach match day, we’d clearly explain a player being absent for those reasons.
Jordan Cranston’s recent two-game suspension was an example. Jordan had already served a one-game suspension at Redditch United for five bookings. A couple of yellow cards meant he reached the ten-game threshold when he was booked against Banbury United, and an automatic two-game suspension took effect; however, we didn’t actively announce this until we had submitted the team sheets to the referee at Stourbridge (21st), the day he was serving the first of his two-game ban.
Club secretary Paul Carter is always aware of potential suspensions for disciplinary reasons; it’s a key task not to fall foul of the rules, and we are fortunate to have such a diligent person as Paul in this role
Hopefully, these explanations might go some way to letting you know why we don’t always feel we can share specific information with supporters.
We know people are eager for information, and we hope we are striking the right balance between satisfying that craving and not giving anyone an advantage by knowing whom Kevin might, or might not, select.
We know we won’t get that right for everyone, but we hope at least you now have some insight into an example of why we sometimes do things the way we do.
From the Dressing Room
Bucks’ right-back Ellis Myles is on countdown to a big event, as he’s due to become a father for the second time shortly. Ellis and partner Amber already have a daughter, Amara, and we send all good wishes to them as they prepare for their three to become four.
