We are saddened to have learnt of the death of former Buck Courtney Meppen-Walter, at the tragically young age of 32.
Courtney, a defensive midfielder or ball-playing central defender of some stature, joined the Bucks from Chorley FC in June 2020, after being part of the Magpies’ squad that earned promotion to the National League in 2019.
The 2020/21 season’s delayed start due to the COVID pandemic meant he didn't make his debut until October. of the same year.
The pandemic meant most games were played without crowds and cut the season short in January 2021.
Courtney returned closer to his North-West roots the following season, joining Radcliffe FC, which meant his stay with the Bucks was relatively brief.
