Match Review

After an enforced week off due to the weather, the Bucks were back in action with a long trip to Leek Town Reserves in league action.

Having beaten Newcastle Town the ladies were looking to pick up another win and continue to move up the table with games in hand.

It took just 4 minutes for the Bucks to open the scoring as a ball into the box worked its way back out to Hannah Clarke on the left hand side, before her deep cross found the head of Charlotte Budd. Her header struck the bar before she pounced on the rebound for her 7th league goal of the campaign. 2 minutes later and it was Budd involved once again as she cut inside the box before the initial shot was blocked by the Leek defender. However, she reacted the quickest to fire home her second of the game.

On 14 minutes the lead was halved as the Leek striker reacted quickest to a ball over the top to beat Mia Bansal in the Bucks goal. 5 minutes later and the two goal lead was restored. Great work from Sasha Woodhouse followed by an inch perfect cross to the edge of the 6 yard box was hammered home on the volley by Abbie Baldwin.

7 minutes before the break and it was 4-1 with Budd grabbing her hat trick with a thunderous strike from the edge of the box that left the keeper with no chance.

13 minutes into the second half and the lead was further extended with arguably goal of the game. Abby White collecting the ball from 40 yards made a short run forward before unleashing a strike from 30 yards that sailed over the keeper into the top corner. Just a minute later and it was 6 as a Meg Jones cross found an unmarked Charlotte Budd who netted her 4th of the game.

The Jones, Budd combo was once again in full force shortly after as a ball over the top gave Budd something to chase, beating the defender for pace before firing home for her 5th of the game and 11th league goal of the season.

The scoring was complete just 20 minutes into the second half. After assisting two goals, Meg picked up her goal pouncing on a sliced clearance before smashing it past the keeper.
