AFC Telford Ladies
1 v 1

Walsall Ladies
Match Review
It wouldn’t be a game between Telford and Walsall if there wasn’t a weather warning in place. Sunday was no different as the two sides faced off for the third time this season. The visitors Walsall came out on top in the league cup before the points were shared in the reverse league fixture.
Both teams last time out progressed in their respective county cup fixtures, both keeping clean sheets in solid victories against Telford Town and Long Itchington respectively.
The first half was a close fought affair as expected with very few chances of note. The visitors perhaps having the better of the openings but neither keeper was forced into a save.
HALF TIME: AFC Telford 0 Walsall 0
The second half was much the same as the first half with notable chances of note few and far between. The Bucks had the larger share of the possession but were unable to find the target with any chances. With less than 15 minutes to go the deadlock was broken and it was the visitors who took the lead. After seizing the ball on the right hand side, a cross looped over Mia Bansal in the Bucks goal to an unmarked Walsall player to bundle home on the line.
Telford were under pressure now to avoid that first league defeat of the season and less than 12 minutes to do that. They drew level just 5 minutes later from a Walsall goal kick. As they tried to play out from the back, the keepers goal kick found Abbie Baldwin on the edge of the box. She quickly found an unmarked Abi Beady 10 yards from goal who prodded the ball past the keeper to draw level.
