Match Review
The Bucks emerged from Sudbury with a hard-earned point thanks to Dior Angus’ late penalty.
The Suffolk side looked lively early on, but so did the Bucks, with the early stages being very much an end-to-end contest. But it was Kevin Wilkin’s men who took the lead thanks to Jordan Piggott’s first goal of the campaign. Ricardo Dinanga’s shot was blocked but the ball bounced up for Piggott to direct a header over Bradbrook from close to the penalty spot.
But the Bucks’ lead didn’t last long, as the Suds won a penalty just moments later. Joe Neal stepped up for the Yellows and confidently swept the ball home from the spot to make it 1-1. And the sides headed in level at the break.
The second half was similar to the first. The Bucks had a good deal of possession, but Sudbury looked dangerous going forward too. And it was the Yellows who nudged in front in the 65th minute when Liam Pearce fired a tremendous left-footed strike across Hall and in off the post.
The Bucks were still very much in the game though, and kept probing for an equaliser and gradually built momentum as the half wore on. And the pressure finally told in extra time, when Piggott was felled in the box by Myles Cowling. The Sudbury man received a straight red card for the challenge, while Dior Angus then stepped up in the 91st minute to calmly beat Bradbrook from 12 yards and level the scores at 2-2.
The point extends the Bucks’ unbeaten league run to six and lifts Wilkin’s men up to 2nd in the table.
