Forward Matty Stenson completes a hat-trick of players confirming their return to the New Buck’s Head so far, signing up for another crack at the Southern League’s Premier Central division in the 2024/25 season.
Matty arrived at the club in January 2024, when his previous team, Nuneaton Borough, resigned from the league. Although Matty experienced some injury problems that restricted his availability, he achieved a healthy return of six goals.
Matty will doubtless be aiming to maintain or even improve that level of production and the 30-year-old striker, who counts Leamington, Solihull Moors and FC Halifax Town amongst his former clubs, can’t wait to get started again:
““I’m really delighted to be back; I came in to get help us promoted and for obvious reasons it wasn’t to be but I’m buzzing to have the opportunity to hopefully be successful this time around.”
Kevin Wilkin expressed his satisfaction at having secured Matty’s services, saying:
“Matt’s a good finisher and a good leader of the line. If we can get a good pre-season into Matt, we can get more games out of him and I’ve no doubt that he’ll score goals and he’ll get a decent return. He’s really eager to do well for the club and will be another big player for us this season.”
Welcome back, Matty!
