We have some sad news to bring you.
We have learnt of the death of Lenny Lloyd, who older Bucks fans will remember with great affection for the many years he spent at Telford United, as trainer to the team in one of it’s most successful eras under manager Stan Storton.
Lenny was a hugely popular character, not just at Telford United but in the community of Telford, where he was well known by many.
We will pay a suitable tribute to Lenny in the coming days, but send our sincerest best wishes and condolences to Lenny’s family, to his friends and to all those who enjoyed his company and who will miss his presence in their lives.
We thank former player Iain Sankey for making us aware of Lenny’s passing:
“He lived opposite me all of my life until I moved out of my parents’ home; they still live there now and were very good good friends with him as we were all involved in the local football scene. My dad managed Donnington Wood and was secretary of the club when Lenny was the manager.”
A true Telford man, Lenny is pictured on the far left with the team that won the 1989 FA Trophy final at Wembley.
Rest in peace, Lenny.
