AFC Telford United Women are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Brown as our new Head Coach following a successful interview process. Browny takes the reigns following the departure of former coach Darel Tidman-Poole after 4 years at the club.
UEFA B qualified Chris brings a wealth of knowledge of the women’s game having gained 7 years experience at various clubs. He started out at Crawley Wasps before spells as Reserve Team manager at Cambridge United and Stevenage Ladies respectively.
Most recently prior to COVID, Chris was Head Coach at Sporting Khalsa Ladies in the Womens National Division one Midlands league.
Chris has continued his coaching journey whilst out of the women’s game as Head coach at Aston University for the men’s and women’s teams. He will be assisted by Alex Owens who remains as assistant for a second season.
Chris will get straight to work meeting with the current squad and staff this week and preparing for our open training sessions towards the end of the month. Before joining he shared his excitement on the appointment, “I can’t wait to get started and work with this talented group ”. We’ll bring you more updates later this week.
