Youth Season Review- Girls Phase

Under 10 Girls

A new side assembled for the 2019/20 season, the Under 10 Girls had a very good season. After taking the early stages of the season to gel as a team they went from strength to strength as the season progressed and picked up some impressive results along the way. The were unlucky not to make the final of the Charity Cup in their first season losing on penalties in the semi finals against Meresiders. Clear signs of progression throughout the season as they look ahead to the 9v9 experience next season.

Under 11 Girls

Our Under 11 Girls made the step up to 9v9 football this season and were in superb form going unbeaten right up until the final game of the season in the Shropshire Girls League. Not only did they excel in the league but they had also booked a place in the final of the Charity Cup against Shifnal Europeans. With every player playing a huge role in the success of the season it was Caitlin McCoole who led from the front as she netted 28 goals for the season, finishing top scorer and second across the whole youth setup.

Under 13 Girls

For our Under 13s Girls, it was a step up to 11v11 football for the first time after a strong season last year in the Shropshire Girls League. With several new faces they started the season in impressive fashion and found themselves in the top division after the initial grading games. With some very strong teams in this group, fine margins determined games and they ended the league campaign in 3rd.

They also excelled in the cup fixtures and booked a place in the final of the Charity Cup against SAHA Panthers. Goals flowed throughout the campaign with Mya Yee leading the way with 20 goals.

Under 15 Girls

A new side for the 2019/20 season as manager Mark Davies assembled a squad that ended the league campaign top of the Shropshire Girls and Women’s League, unbeaten and in the final of the Charity Cup.

Conceding 10 goals from their 12 league games whilst scoring 76 in the process, they made huge strides towards the league title with a 6-2 victory over nearest rivals TNS; a side made up of several former Bucks players. They were also due to face the same opposition in the Charity Cup final. Jess Walley was the leading scorer for the side in her first season at the club picking up 23 goals.

Under 17 Girls

The Under 17 Girls had a superb season in the Central Warwickshire Girls League and were sat top of the league unbeaten in touching distance of the league title when COVID-19 took this away. Despite the disappointment of not having the silverware for their hard work throughout the season, they will take plenty of positives into the next campaign.

Lauren McCaffrey was in fine form picking up 28 goals, the second highest across the whole Youth setup. Meanwhile it was great to see three players from this side have the opportunity to play for the Ladies side last season. Goalkeeper Chloe Trower had a clean sheet performance for the Ladies against Solihull Sporting whilst both Defender Milly Hall and Midfielder Kacey Davies both made a couple of appearances in League and Cup Fixtures.

Under 18 Girls

The U18 Girls found it a very tough season in the top Central Warwickshire League but credit to them for sticking to the task in hand. 5 players from the squad experienced Ladies team football throughout the season too as keeper Beth Charnell featured twice in goal, Lucie Hill made an appearance before her injury whilst Katy Cameron was involved in our FA Cup squad at Coventry Sphinx. Special mention to both Jorgie Pendrous and Abbie Baldwin who both featured regularly throughout the season for the Ladies.
