Tidman-Poole adds Owens to Backroom Staff
AFC Telford Ladies are pleased to announce the addition of Alex Owens to our backroom staff. Alex comes to the club with a wealth of experience in the Ladies game and will support Head Coach Darel Tidman-Poole for the upcoming season.
UEFA B qualified Owens started at Wolves Ladies working with both the Reserves and the First Team. Following this he moved to Shrewsbury Town Ladies assisting our former manager Sean Evans for two seasons before taking on the managerial role as Evans moved across to the Bucks.
We caught up with Alex to get his thoughts on his latest move, “It’s a great opportunity to join Telford, with the growth they have taken over the previous years and the exciting upcoming plans. Having spoken to Darel, she has outlined hers and the clubs intentions for the next couple of years and this is an excellent time to be involved with the club. I look forward to meeting up with the rest of the staff and the squad for pre-season”.
After leaving Shrewsbury Ladies, Alex has since been working within the Aston Villa RTC in particular the Under 16s Girls before joining us for the 2020/21 season.
Head Coach Darel Tidman-Poole also reflected on the addition of Owens to her backroom staff, “It’s brilliant for the club to bring someone with Alex’s experience on board. He has a proven record at this level and he has also experience of elite clubs. On a personal level, I’m really looking forward to working with him and seeing where we can take this team.”
We welcome Alex to AFC Telford and wish him well as we look to build during this uncertain time.
