Youth Round-Up

Saturday 15th February

Just 5 games to report on this week due to a combination of the half term break and the weather as we start our roundup with the Under 13 Boys who were in MJPL Cup semi final action against Northampton GLK United. On paper it posed to be a tricky encounter for the Bucks. However, they put in a superb performance to book their place in the final thanks to goals from Harry James (2) and Sam Ross. They face Droitwich Spa Trojans in the final in May.

The Under 15 Boys were in clinical form as they beat Allexton & New Parks Junior 5-0 thanks to goals from Matthew Cutler, Brian Castle, Hanoch Boayke and a brace for Jake Evans, taking him to 10 for the season. Meanwhile the Under 10 Boys slipped to a 2-0 defeat in the MJPL Spring Cup against Oldbury United. The Under 16 Boys were beaten 4-1 by a strong Lichfield City side, Reece Clayton with the consolation Bucks goal.

We end our roundup with the Under 18 Boys who faced local rivals Wellington KB. It was a poor first half from the Bucks who found themselves 2-0 down at the break, however a superb second half with goals from Dan Gormley (2) and James Smallwood gave they a deserved 3-2 victory.

Saturday 22nd February

Just 4 teams in action this weekend as all our Boys sides take a break from MJPL action. We start our round up with the Under 10 Girls who were safe from the elements in the TCAT dome for the Shropshire FA Futsal competition. They were up against Randlay, Albrighton, Newport and Shifnal respectively as they picked up a win, a draw and two defeats. Jasmine Millis and Aliyah McAuley with the goals on the day.

League leading Under 15 Girls were in action in blustery conditions against Prees FC looking to consolidate their position at the top. The did so in convincing fashion as a Mollie Edwards hat trick put them on their way with further goals coming from Jess Walley, Rachel Taylor, Mia-Jay McCarthy and Romillie Evans.  Meanwhile the Under 18 Girls fell to a defeat against Boldmere St Michaels.

We end the weeks round up with the Under 11 Girls who faced Shifnal for a fourth time already this season and picked up a solid victory. Leading scorer Caitlin McCoole once again bagged a hat trick with Jasmine Cooper, Izzy Barnett and Lily Morrissey also netting.

In the build up to this weekends fixtures we had two games. The Under 14 Boys picked up a win over Wolves Under 15 Girls in a great run out after the half term break. Meanwhile the Under 9 Boys picked up an impressive win over Kidderminster Harriers of the JPL thanks to goals from Jude Coates, Kai Price, Oscar Northwood and Ross McDermott.
