Youth Round-Up

Saturday 18th January

It was a return to action for our youth sides, despite a few postponements 12 teams were in action and we start our round up with the Under 11 Girls who were in Charity Cup action against Worthen looking to book a place in the final. It was a superb all round performance from the young Bucks as they ran out 4-0 winners thanks to a brace from Caitlin McCoole and one each for Miyah Jones and Jasmine Cooper.

The Under 12 Boys faced Wordsley Wasps looking to make it back to back victories. They did so in convincing fashion with a 12-1 victory. Jack Beech was the leading marksman with 4 with Jack Deeley (3), Rhys Iley, Bayley Bateman, Ryan Cumming, Jack Davies and Lewis Upton on the scoresheet. It was victory too for the Under 14 Boys who were 4-2 winners against a strong Nuneaton Borough side. In a solid attacking display, both wingbacks Jenson Bolton (2) and Aidan McCann were on the scoresheet alongside leading scorer Preston Whinnerah.

Both our Under 15 and Under 17 Girls sides had free league weekends so took the opportunity to take in friendlies. The Under 15 Girls faced a tricky test against Burton Albion of the Central Warwickshire League. The Girls put in a solid and disciplined performance to run out deserved 2-1 winners courtesy of goals from Elle Morrissey and Courtney Castle. Meanwhile the Under 17 Girls faced premier league side Leicester City looking to build on a heavy defeat to the same opposition in the cup earlier in the season. Despite losing the game 1-0 the girls put in a fantastic performance especially after not playing for 6 weeks prior. The Under 10 Girls suffered a defeat at home to Albrighton in the Shropshire Girls and Women’s League.

The Under 11 Boys suffered a first defeat of the season with a narrow 3-2 defeat away at Rugby Borough. Against a strong side, goals from Isaac Bateson and Ethan Rowland weren’t enough to see them extend their 100% record. Meanwhile it was a first league defeat since September with a 2-0 defeat against Belvedere Park.

Our Under 9 Boys welcome NFA Academy to TCAT for a friendly with some cracking football on the day as Kai Price, Jude Coates and Lucius Paterson-Geraghty netted for the young Bucks. The Under 13 Girls suffered a disappointing defeat against SAHA FC whilst we end our round up with the Under 18 Boys who faced Stafford Rangers looking to make a move up the league and put pressure on the league leaders.  After going 3-1 down, they fought back to move 4-3 up before conceding in the last minute to share the points. Dan Gormley (2), CJ Taylor and Ethan Pickford netting for the Bucks.

Saturday 25th January

Another week of action as the weather held of giving us a full set of 11 fixtures and we start our round up with the Under 18 Boys who were in MJPL Cup against against Eckington Juniors. Two goals from Dan Gormley helped them book their place in the semi final. It was similar fortune for the Under 16 Bonus as goals from Reece Clayton and Callum Knowles gave them a 2-1 victory over Solihull Moors. They will face either Mickleover Sports or Proline Coaching Academy in the semi final.

Our Under 10 Girls were in Shropshire Futsal League action picking up two wins a draw and a defeat with all goals coming from Ellie Scrace. The Under 13 Girls returned to winning ways with a 5-1 victory over Leominster. Mya Yee returned to scoring ways with a brace with further goals coming from Lacie Everton-Holden, Darcy Miller and Eden Wallace. A goal from Oliver Grice wasn’t enough to stop the Under 10 Boys falling to a heavy defeat against against Northampton GLK United.

After a first defeat of the season last week, the Under 11 Boys returned to winning ways in the MJPL Cup with a 3-0 victor the over Proline Coaching Academy. Jackson Lucas opened the scoring with Jacob Jones and Cole Dexter also netting. The Under 12 Boys came up against a resistant Droitwich Spa but managed to secure a 2-1 victory, Bayley Bateman with both goals.

The Under 15 Girls survived a made 20 minutes to beat Newport Girls 3-2, Courtney Castle (2) and Elle Morrissey with the goals. The Under 17 Girls put in a dominant performance to defeat Burntwood Dragons and move 6 points at the top of the league. It was some familiar names on the scoresheet as Nykeshia Reed (4), Abbie Norry (2) and Lauren McCaffrey (2) netted.

Our Under 15 Boys staged a second half turnaround to get a draw against Newcastle Town. After being 5-2 down a Jake Evans hat trick and a Jeyden Williams brace gave them a point. We end our round up with the Under 13 Boys who faced Tamworth looking to book a semi final spot in the MJPL Cup. It was a dominant performance fro the young Bucks as goals from Alex Sharpe (2), Harry James, Harry Bailey, Tyler Harris and Freddie Williams gave them a 6-1 victory. They face Northampton GLK United in the semi finals.
