"Telford looking to make an impact at Alfreton"

Telford head to Derbyshire on New Year’s Day to complete a festive double-header against Alfreton Town.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 1-1, but the Bucks put in a dominant display when the sides met last week to win 3-0 on Boxing Day. Ryan Barnett impressed in last Thursday’s game at the New Bucks Head, scoring one and setting up the other two Bucks goals.

Barnett had to sit out Saturday’s game through suspension, but the Bucks still managed to record a third straight clean sheet to beat Gloucester City 1-0 – the last time the Bucks recorded three straight shutouts was in the spring of 2016. Alfreton, meanwhile, picked up a good point at home to league leaders King’s Lynn, thereby ending a run of five straight defeats.

Gavin Cowan will no doubt be hoping for another resolute, well-drilled performance at the Impact Arena, as the Bucks go in search of three more festive points on New Year’s Day.
