We undertook a 9 a.m. pitch inspection at the SEAH Stadium, conducted by a local referee, principally to assure St Ives Town about the condition of the playing surface. In other words, had the pitch not passed this initial check, we would have advised St Ives not to travel.
Our pitch passed this inspection, and we have advised St Ives that it is currently ‘Game On’. They will shortly be en route to Shropshire, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m.
*IMPORTANT*
With the weather forecast being for more heavy rain between 10 am and 12 am, we cannot give any absolute guarantees that the game will take place.
We want the game to be played, but the match referee makes the final decision about whether the pitch is playable.
Should conditions alter significantly, the game could still be postponed, and it would be misleading for us to suggest otherwise. Please bear this in mind when making your decision as to whether to attend.
We will help as much as we can by communicating any relevant updates to the situation as soon as possible via our website and social media.
Thank you for your understanding, and fingers crossed for this afternoon.
