AFC Telford Ladies
Match Review
5 star showing for Bucks Women on the road.
It was the second league game for AFC Telford Women as they travelled to face familiar opponents Newcastle Town. Having already beaten them once in the FA Cup this season and following on from cup progression last time out, the side went into the game full of confidence looking for that first 3 points of the season.
The deadlock was broken in just the 4th minute as a long ball was misjudged by the Town backline before Abby White intercepted a clearance to play in Abi Beady. Beady who was captaining the side for the day managed to just slide the ball under the advancing keeper.
10 minutes in and the score line was doubled as Rom Evans played in Abbie Baldwin down the right hand side. Her low cross into the box was tapped home at the back post by Meg Jones for her 3rd of the season.
Whilst the Bucks remained firmly in control they failed to create a huge number of chances until the 37th minute when it was once again the White and Beady combo. Abby beat her marker to the ball in the middle of the park before playing in Beady 1v1 who remained calm under pressure to round the keeper and finish.

The second half was a much quieter affair with few chances of note. However, Mia Bansal in the Telford goal had to be aware as Newcastle mustered up their first chances of the game. It was the Bucks that found the next goal on 67 minutes. A recycled cross on the right from Baldwin teed up the impressive Abby White who finished from 20 yards giving her the goal her performance deserved.
On 73 minutes, 4 became 5 after great work from Woodhouse again down the left hand side. After beating a couple of players she found an unmarked Charlotte Budd to guide the ball home.
