Following last weekends postponement, AFC Telford Women open up their league campaign at home to newly promoted Hednesford Town. Both sides went through a managerial change in pre season with Alex Owens taking over from Sean Evans for the Bucks. Meanwhile the visitors are now managed by former Buck Jared Hodgkiss and wife Laura.

It’s a first season in the West Midlands Regional League for Hednesford who were promoted from the Staffordshire Women’s League alongside Eccleshall. Like the Bucks they didn’t play last weekend but also progressed emphatically in the FA Cup last time out; a 7-0 victory over Shropshire Women’s League side Worthen.

The Bucks set out a statement victory against league rivals Newcastle Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup to set up an away tie against Belper next Sunday. However, they must first negotiate a tough league season opener, so be sure to head down to TCAT College on Sunday afternoon for what is sure to be an entertaining game.
