The Bucks held out against stubborn Lowestoft side to claim a resolute 2-1 win on the Suffolk coast.

Telford took an early lead when Byron Moore notched his second goal of the season in the 6th minute. Ellis Myles’ low shot from the edge of the box was parried by keeper Luke Holt, but Moore pounced on the rebound to fire the ball high into the net over the grounded keeper.

Lowestoft reacted well to the early goal, and the Bucks had to be switched on to deal with some persistent pressure from the Trawler Boys. But having done a fair amount of defending, the Bucks made it 2-0 on 25 minutes when Ricardo Dinanga broke away down the left and crossed for Jimmy Armson to hammer home his first competitive goal for the Bucks. The sides headed into the break with the score at 2-0.

Lowestoft huffed and puffed as they tried to get back into the game, but the Bucks dealt with their threat well. However, the introductions of Flynn Clarke and Joao Rangel started to swing the momentum towards the Trawler Boys, who found a lifeline in the 75th minute when Jake Reed turned the ball home from close range.

The final 15 minutes saw the home side lay seige to the Telford goal, but the Bucks kept Lowestoft out – thanks in no small part to a terrific save from Brandon Hall, who got down brilliantly to paw Harvey Sayer’s shot around the post.

A 2-1 win for the Bucks, then, and one that moves Kevin Wilkin’s men level on points with four other sides at the top of the Southern Premier League Central table.
