Boss Gavin Cowan has today paid tribute to the Telford faithful

AFC Telford United boss Gavin Cowan has today paid tribute to the Telford faithful for the support they have shown to the club since his appointment as manager.

Over 1,200 supporters attended the first home of the season last weekend when the Bucks beat early promotion favourites Southport 1-0 at the New Bucks Head. Our hospitality executive boxes sold out on Saturday and over the past month we have seen an increase in supporters purchasing season tickets.

Chairman Andy Pryce & boss Gavin Cowan held a fans forum last Thursday evening when they spoke in length to supporters about the season ahead and what they hope to achieve.

The Bucks boss did not give a specific aim – such as promotion or the play-offs – but said: "I don't see a limitation on things.

"Do I think I can bring back those days when me and Phil played here? Yes, I do.

266 Telford supporters travelled to Kidderminster on Tuesday evening which was one of the largest following of Telford supporters to a league game for several years.

“This is what I have been talking about since being appointed as the manager. If our supporters can continue to show the support they have against Southport & Kidderminster, it gives our club the best chance of getting back where it belongs. With the players performance and the support on show its make me proud to be the manager of this football club”

The Bucks are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Guiseley before hosting Brackley Town at the New Bucks Head on Tuesday 14th August.
