The season is starting to take shape for our Youth sides as we entered match day 4. With 14 teams playing it was an action packed weekend across the board.
We start our round up with one of the comebacks of the weekend. Our Under 18 Girls side hosted Coundon Court Girls looking to keep up their 100% record. However it didn't start well for the Girls as they quickly found themselves 2-0 down. However they soon turned the game on its head with goals from Beth Cooke, Caitlyn Smith and Ashley Kilgour gave them a 3-2 victory. Another high scoring game was our Under 14 Boys who made the long trip to face Leicester Road. In a 13 goal thriller it was the Bucks who edged the game by the single goal with a 7-6 victory. Goals came from Mackenzie Gulliver (2), Josh Beamond (2), Reece Pagett (2) and Reuban Payton.
Two teams were in local derby action this weekend in the MJPL with the Under 12 Boys facing NC United and the Under 15 Boys hosting Shrewsbury Town. The 15s found themselves two goals down and destined for defeat until Tom Phillips threw the Bucks a lifeline shortly before half time before Kai Ata levelled things up with a 30 yard screamer. The Bucks could have nicked it at the end but Jack Ingram was denied by the post from close range. Meanwhile it was a 1-1 draw for the 12s with Oliver Corbett on the scoresheet.
One of our sides taking a 100% record into the weekend were the Under 16 Girls who travelled to face Sutton Coldfield Town for the second successive weekend. This time round goals from Lauren White and Ruby Weston gave them a 2-0 win keeping the record going for another week. Meanwhile the Under 15 Girls suffered a 4-0 defeat on the road to Leicester City Development with the Under 10 Girls suffering similar fortune at home to SAHA FC.
For our two Under 10 Boys sides, United suffered defeat at home to Newport Town whilst the Bucks won away at Coventry Sky Blues courtesy of goals from Spencer Frost, Logan Whittaker and Jack Davies. Despite a goal from Matthew Cutler, the Under 13 Boys went down 3-1 at home to Brewood Juniors. It was better fortune for the Under 12 Girls with Rachel Taylor leading the way with 4 goals as they ran out 5-1 winners away at Oswestry Boys and Girls Club. Syd Field was on hand with the other goal for the Girls.
The Under 11 Boys faced their toughest test of the season so far as they entertained Halesowen Town Juniors. In an entertaining game the spoils were shared with goals for the Bucks coming from Mason Brassington, Tyler Harris and Ryley McPartland extending their unbeaten run to 4 games. The Under 16 Boys also faced a tough game at home facing early pacesetters CS Colts. Despite being a goal down at the break, Kaleem Hodgkinson levelled things up to give them a well deserved draw.
We end our round up with the Under 18 Boys who travelled to face AFC Andrews in preparation for this weeks FA Youth Cup away at Halesowen Town. Only 3 seconds were on the clock when the Bucks fell behind with a goal direct from the kick off. However this was only to be a minor blip as they went on to score 7 unanswered goals. Armando Wood led the way with a hat trick with further goals coming from Tom Hughes (2), Jamie Bloor and Josef Pratt.
